This gives me such a giggle because I relate to it so well. With consecutive surgeries on both knees and then two spinal surgeries I developed a new appreciation for the simple task of sitting on a loo without having to drop to it with no control. As you mentioned earlier, weight gain is quick when usual activity is compromised and that didn't help me at all. I began to have thoughts of the poor old toilet pedestal finally giving up and leaving me in whole new world of embarrassment. Fortunately I made through and the loo is still intact LOL

Well no more gingerbread for me.

I broke off part of a molar under a filling. NO it was not on my cookies. I am a cookie aficionado with high standards. It is my strength in the kitchen. (Show up for dinner get ready for survival meals.)  I lost part of a tooth on  a petrified baked potato chip in the very bottom of the bag I was attempting to empty so my teenagers would not place the bag with less than a handful of crushed crumbs back in the pantry. I swear my teeth are made of chalk.

On the up side some good sub zero walks off leash past couple of nights. To cheer us up. He earned them... I get all into baking and he just kind of lays in his corner. Waiting for me to leave the kitchen for a second so he can lick the flour off the floor and whatever tasty specks land there while I cut out the dough and such. We get frustrated at each other when he gets neglected. He gives those huge sighs and those blasted hound dog eyes. The dreaded loud thuds when he moves to a different spot.  Attempts to engage me by rolling his ball from the door into the kitchen so I will kick it up for him to catch. I grumble go away and he skulks off to his landing upstairs. I see that head come up with hopeful expectation up there on his perch as I walk by to go to the restroom. Sometimes I wonder why he still comes running when I call. I'd be holding a big old cold shoulder grudge. Then I remember he is a dog and I am a human.

PS I miss the fun emojis

Ya know your life is a bit off when a good day is measured by how just one part of your body functions. Being able to sit normally trumps finding a five dollar bill in the laundry in the measure of good days. Although the five dollars would sweeten the deal.  Wink
Hopefully next year this time you will be able to look back and say "Wow this time last year I can't believe this is the same knee that was driving me crazy." As you go about your busy holiday.

I went up to Tennessee to check on some elderly relatives for a few days and walking the hills did wonders for my knee. But I had to come home a few days early because my dad had a heart attack. He is on the mend, but that's why I have sort of disappeared for a few days.
Gotta love 'em.

I am sorry GM *hugs* is there anything we can do from up here? I am glad your knee is on the mend and hopefully your dad will progress quickly. I haven't heard much about the kids. You always speak with such loving praise of them. I hope they are being a consistent positive light in the rough patches.

I still have your angels on my shelf with some treasured photos and candles. I think of your wisdom not only in dogs but life. Along with the patience you get from the source they represent whenever the candles burn.

So then I had a retina tear and laser surgery on my eye. Right now, I am nearly blind in one eye, but it's temporary. I would have to say that if you are a praying person, prayers would be the greatest help to me and mine. I sure hope things settle down soon. I'm tired of this.
Gotta love 'em.

I couldn't make up my mind whether he was folding the blanket to put it away, or making the perfect bed, but I'm sure it was one or the other.
Gotta love 'em.
