WARNING: Never deal w/...(get ready for a rant)

DHL unless you absolutely have to. I don't know about the rest of the U.S. but these people in my area have absolutely no idea how to solve a problem.

Last week, a package was delivered and got here just fine. Today, I was expecting the second portion of the package to arrive and according to the tracking site, it arrived at 10:52 a.m. Where it arrived, I still haven't found out, but it wasn't at my front door.

I called them about an hour after I found out it was delivered to notify them it had NOT been delivered. The answer I got was the driver dropped it off at my front door "as usual" and as soon as they found out from the driver where he/she dropped it they would call me back and update me. I was like what is "as usual" because this is only the 3rd package that I've EVER recieved from DHL. :? Fast forward 8....yes I said 8 more phone calls later, I still don't know what front door they dropped my package off, except that it definitely isn't mine. Now keep in mind this is ME calling them...not the other way around like its supposed to be. They did not put in one status callback to me at all all day long....not ONE that they said they would do.

I can understand if the delivery is going to be late,(thats not the part that pisses me off) but do NOT patronize me by giving ME the run around for a mistake that YOUR company has made.

So what do I do you ask? I called Dell. The poor guy (bless his heart) was being ever so kind and helpful (I was being just as polite at this point) and then he pointed out that "Maybe someone stole it from your front door?" I could not contain myself at this reply....I frustratedly explained to him that's the problem that nobody seems to understand....THE PACKAGE WAS NEVER DROPPED OFF FOR ANYBODY TO STEAL!!!!! DHL HAD NOT EVEN DROVE DOWN MY ROAD MUCH LESS MY DRIVEWAY!! He was very helpful and told me "Please please don't be upset, I promise we will take care of this matter promptly, I BELIEVE YOU!!!!" Finally somebody understands that I'm not making all of this up. (At which point I returned to being polite again).

End result: Dell is replacing the package at no extra cost...next business day delivery at no extra cost... and will request DHL actually gets a signature this time at no extra cost.

As for DHL...well I'm SUPPOSED to recieve a phone call in the a.m. to give me a status update...stay tuned to see if that happens. I won't be holding MY breath!!

Sidenote: I do understand its the holidays and everyone wants their stuff now. I understand that mistakes happen. That's not what I'm angry about. I'm angry about the lack of concern this company has for something like this. I'm angry about the lack of concern this driver has for something like this. I do believe if I were the driver, it would worry me to the end of the world if someone claimed that I delivered the package to the wrong address...I would be hunting it down to get it to its RIGHTFUL owner and I would admit that I made a mistake. /shrug

ETA: I do believe I will go have a box of chocolate covered cherries now to let off some steam!! /snoopy

  Euthanasia vs Natural Death
Posted by: LJS1993 - 11-18-2007, 10:03 AM - Forum: General Border Collie Discussion - Replies (18)

What's your take on Euth vs natural death? I ask this because it was so hard to say goodbye to my last BC Shadow. In fact, it was kind of a battle between my Mother and myself in regards as to when it was time to say goodbye and put poor Shadow to rest. To make a long story short, I wanted it done a lot sooner before a specific surgical procedure was done while my Mother, who loved the dog also, really wanted to see if said procedure would give her some time. Since we are all going to have to deal with this issue with our current dogs, I wanted some discussion on this topic.

  Car Sickness (Tucker)
Posted by: LJS1993 - 11-17-2007, 06:18 PM - Forum: General Border Collie Discussion - Replies (9)

Tucker is getting car sick now pretty much every time my fiance takes him to the park. He either drools heavily or actually pukes. I think alot of it has to do with her "import/too fast too silly" style of driving that does it. However, if not, there must be some type of solution that will help Tuck. Any input?
