Okay, this might be a bit of a weird question, but does anyone have a bc with a very pointy head? Izzy has the most bizarre head shape of any dog I've ever met. Narrow head, but the top of it takes a dramatic dip in the center, and the skull itself - especially at the back 'point' - is incredibly hard. He's accidentally banged his head into me a few times when he's been playing and it hurt!! But it's his head shape that I find unique. Since Izzy is the first border collie I've ever had, and I had never really met any others, I'm wondering if this type of head shape is typical of some border collie lines. I do know there can be a lot of variation, but is this one of them? Or do I just have a weird dog?

I've tried to get a picture of it, but it's kind of hard to capture how dramatic it is (to me, anyway). Here's a photo though, that sort of gives you a bit of the idea:
Oh, and one I'm just throwing in for fun

Hi all,

We went for yesterday's walk, which was lethal! When we reached the park, I grabbed this video of Saffy chasing her big sister in the snow ...

Doggies in snow

... she just needed a bit of time to absorb all the excitement before she responded to my sit command at the end. Well she never runs off and always stays close by, so we forgive her the odd slow reaction.

Saffy actually caught Abbie's mouth whilst herding her a bit too closely and poor Abs bled a little, so we had to cut it all short. She was fine, though. The worst part was figuring out where it was coming from.

Before all that excitement, we got these shots of the girlies:

Well, we have an issue. In the last week to 10 days Shep has been acting up. Every time there is food about (only human food, never doggy food) he starts growling, baring his teeth and has even nipped Storm a couple of times.

ALL of this is aimed at Storm, never Ben or Shadow, and the only time he doesn't do it is when they get their dinner.

I'm a little perplexed as he's never shown this behaviour before, he's always been so good with food and is the only one of them who we've NOT had to train to go away when we're eating. He's never anywhere near us when we have food, even now, he just sits away from us acting up.

Storm is getting fed up with it and now every time Shep comes near him he's growling at Shep.

He's 3, been neutered and is so good in every other way. Nothing has changed, they were all wormed a month ago. The only thing which has changed is that Gary is here all day, every day now - but I don't see how that could lead to food aggression!

If anyone has any ideas about what could be wrong, or if there's something you think we're doing I'd be grateful to hear it!

It's ONLY when food is involved for Shep, he's actually cuddled up with Storm on the sofa at the moment.

Confused.

Does anyone elses dogs hate your neighbours?
As soon as they come out the house, or are in the garden when he comes out he goes crazy and barks and growls... he even barked at my neighbour when he saw him down the park, so its not a territory thing is it?

It makes me think they've done something! Its weird! He doesn't bark like that at anyone (besides joggers).

my husband is on guard this weekend and he nipped back at 8am to wake me up and tell me it was snowing, i got all excited and decided to get up and take holly for a walk to see liam (oh) at 9 when he was on the gate. i was only planning on taking holly cause we have to walk up the roads to get there and i didnt want the slow cars to wind milo up and him end up pulling me over so i was going to let him play in the garden while i took holly and then me and my hubby take him later. got to about 8:55 and i felt bad cause id got hollys collar and jacket on and milo was just layed staring at me from the kitchen making me feel guilty so i got his harness on and off we all went....milo was absolutely hilarious when he 1st got into the snow! he was walking with all his legs as wide open as he could and he kept looking at me as if to say "woah mum whats all this...this wasnt here yesterday its making me paws cold" but he soon got use to it. i was praying he would be good, i put him on the extender lead so he could have some leway and not be pulling me constantly. thankfully there was nothing on the road everyone was either still in bed or decided to walk cause they dont grit the roads on camp so everything is white over. i think about 2/3 cars passed us and milo was good he just laid down and watched them go by didnt lunge at them, stood talking to liam and he was throwing snowballs for them holly was fething them back too if they didnt break! stupid dog lol i walked round the camp perimiter and went to go onto the airfield so i could let milo off to have a run around where there would be no cars and be able to play with holly instead of been on a limit to how far he can go. but the guard room had changed the gate code i was very dissapointed. but we walked back home and milo got all bouncy when i was kicking the snow at him and was trying to eat it as it flew at him, was so cute! i hope the snow stays tomorrow so i can get the code and take him for a good play with holly!

Hi all, i have arranged a doggy meet on another forum i am also on.
I thought i would put details here aswell to see if there would be anyone here wanting to join us.

i found a real nice location for dog walking pretty central to Yeovil, Wiltshire, Bath and Bristol.

If you copy and search these co-ordinates: 51.141529,-2.471387 on google maps,
it will take you to spagrove, All the surrounding fields are linked, and open to public
for dog walking. The postcode for this place is BA4 6HQ

There are lots of shallow streams for the dogs to play in, and huge areas to run around.
A short walk around there is only about an hour - however there are longer routes, of
2, 3 or even 4 hours for those interested.

The date for this meet has already been decided its going to be on the 25th on February 2012 at 11:00 AM

If there is anyone here that would like to join us for this doggy meet please add your name below.

Would be really nice to get as many dogs today as we can

I am not even kidding. Zoie is a very...vocal farter. I have never heard a dog fart the way she does. I most add, farts are cheap entertainment in my house, so when Zoie does it we all laugh. Well Sierra has been working on getting Zoie to fart whenever she picks her up....dare I say she has been quite successful. 90% of the time, Sierra will pick Zoie up in the 'fart' pose and Zoie will squank one out. If there is nothing coming out, Sierra can feel her trying to push one out. When the fart does come out, Sierra is quick to reward with good girl, laughs and snuggles. (I'll be darned it is SO working) lol

Sierra's dream is to say "look what my dog can do", pick Zoie up and out an audible fart will come.

That's my girl....gotta love her.
