RE: when do you start feeding adult food?
i started putting my pups over to adult at about 4 mo about 15 yrs ago....i started this b/c our 1st BC we got grew so fast that he was only about 3-5# lighter at 6 mo than when he was full grown and never got any taller.....we still wonder if that didn't contribute to his HD....he was on puppy food til 8 mo..........his sister was on puppy till 6 mo then switched to 1/2 and 1/2 and she, also, grew quite fast till then, but not as bad
Tir was on puppy till 3 mo and then 1/2 and 1/2 til 6 mo then to full adult and the other 2 (Titch and Kilt...got Saoirse at 9 mo) were just switched as soon as they started loosing their puppy teeth..... owned by a 4 pack....watched over by an Angel

RE: when do you start feeding adult food?
Mine go to an adult food around the 6 month mark or depending on when I run out.

RE: when do you start feeding adult food?
I'd probably go with the half and half method but only 'cos Jet has a very sensitive tummy, if he didn't I'd just change it in one go. I know that's not what most people recommend but in all likelihood it will be fine, especially as it's the same brand

RE: when do you start feeding adult food?
My puppy food says to feed up till 18 months... I thought this was a bit old, but if that is what it says I guess I will go with it...

RE: when do you start feeding adult food?
I feed puppy food until somewhere between 4 and 6 months or when the bag runs out in that time. I feed a puppy version of the same type/flavor of food, so I just go ahead and switch over but if it's a different flavor or brand, you will want to do it gradually over a week or two.

RE: when do you start feeding adult food?
I rarely change my dogs gradually form anything to anything - but my dogs are fairly settled tummy wise - you will have to make the call on how sensitive you think your pup is.

Puppy food gives them more energy.....(for the growing they are doing) ...when the growing slows down....the extra energy has to come out somewhere.....
