joint supplement after injury
A few weeks ago my Mandy (2.5yr old BC) ran out in front of a car...must have just been clipped or something. I took her to the vet that said no broken bones, nothing internal, but felt like left back knee was probably injured. He gave me Glyco-Flex III as a supplement for her.

She seems totally fine right now...but I want to start agility training with her, so was thinking that I should give her whatever might help. I know the science is not always 100% proved out...but I think its pretty well accepted that the supplements dont hurt...they just might not actually help. I am OK with that.

Now, I work in a Natural Pet Food Store, and can get most anything at cost, so that helps, but Vetri-science only sells to vets so I can not get it wholesale.

Right now I have in my store Nupro silver, Fido-Vite Flexx, and Green Dog Naturals Healthy Motion. I am out of the Glyco-Flex, so I have a two part question.

1. Would you stay on Glyco-Flex or switch to something else?
2. Are any of the 3 that I already have something you would recommend, or is there another product. I can get most anything at cost except those products only available to vets.

RE: joint supplement after injury
I believe Linda was using something that she found very good with her dog when she had her injury.

You may find your dog cannot cope with doing too much agility. Good luck.

RE: joint supplement after injury
I used VivoZeoComplete for Ari, suggested by a friend. It took Ari from an OK life, to back to normal in about a year.

She was injured while running agility and had laser treatments, chiropractor adjustment and meds, too many to list. She couldn't run or some days even walk.
After two weeks of EvoZeoComplete she was able to get up from a lying position by herself and even trot around the yard. Now she is back to running full stride and even jumping for balls.

She still has 2 prolapsed discs, and nothing short of surgery can fix that, but she is back running and playing and that is good enough for me.

I would recommend VivoZeoComplete to anyone that has a dog with arthritis from aging or any pain from injury.

RE: joint supplement after injury
Thanks for the replies.
My wife races barrel horses and so we have had one horse that does have issues from an old injury...so I understand Mandy might never be able to compete at a high level, although we are hopeful...the vet said on Thursday that based on his initial check, and how she is on her follow up etc that she probably had just sprained her knee. He does not think it was a major injury.

That being said...I just think keeping her on something would probably be good.

I can not find the VivoZeoComplete...do you know who makes that? Thank you.

You won't find much info on it for dogs it is basically sold as an equine product.
I only know what it did for my girl and a few friends dogs as well. It is an amazing product.

Hi I am also part of a lab forum so joint supplements come up allot. Smile One is the Fido-Vite Flexx and another is Hylasport. I just started using the Hylasport for my 8 year old girl.
