I so hope these dogs are found safe and sound. It scares me and makes me wonder. That is a 40 minute time span. Why were they alone in the van that long?

The dogs were sleeping in their crates in the back of the van.

I'm not trying to be mean at all. But were they left there overnight?

Yes. Here's another link.

I know some people might not agree with that (letting the dogs sleep in the van overnight) but it is not an uncommon practice. And this is CA, it's not too cold. The important thing is to get the dogs home.

I hope all the dogs are back home soon, i'm no use though on the other side of the world, if they are made to hot too handle normally the thiefs panic and let the dogs go.

Sad they are missing. At the risk of ruffling some feathers... WHAT THE HECK WERE THEY THINKING leaving them in the van at such a crappy hotel???????????? For 20 more bucks they couldn't have stayed somewhere that the dogs could be inside?

At the risk of joining in the ruffling I completely agree. If these dogs arenso loved and valuable why were they left? This might be common practice but it wouldn't be for me.

IMO... there's one of two things that could be happening ...

stupidity at it's finest or it's fraud

My thoughts exactly. Alanna, I hope this does not offend you. I know you have nothing to do with this and have the best interest of the dogs at heart. I would repost it too. I just think the judgement was very bad OR it is fraud. Rayeann and I talked about that option before.

I completely agree. I just didn't want Alanna to feel she was being attacked for posting it. In the end what is most important is that the dogs are safe. If the van really was stolen (I honestly hope it was not) I am afraid what will happen or may have already happened to these dogs.

RE: Stolen Dogs! Please read!
Well, the news posted how much they were worth, if it was stolen, they just set up a puppy mill for the thieves. I can't imagine (ok I can... ) something being stolen from motel 6. It's such a cruddy place, it's unlikely that the people staying there have anything. I can't imagine that the dogs were quiet while being driven away by a stranger either...

RE: Stolen Dogs! Please read!
I know that anything that looks commercial, like a cargo van with a large storage box, is a high priority target for thieves. So are some purebred dogs. I once had a large cargo trailer stolen out of a hotel parking lot here in CA, with over $10,000 worth of stock in it. So leaving your dogs crated overnight in your commercial looking vehicle is definitely not the best idea. That said, I don't think it was fraud I think it was just poor judgement. But who knows... If it was fraud I don't see why they'd be spreading the info around as much as they are cause that'll get too many people involved.
