RE: Shy but handsome tri red
I've just started raising a 16 week old very shy red/white. I hope someday we can represent "the shy puppy" and why it's not so bad to be shy. No one wanted my lil guy because he was so shy so I took him in and we are working to build confidence! Shy pups make great dogs too! I sure hope this one finds a good home!

Great for you, and you are correct, they may very loyal dogs. The rescue I got Silky from tried everything to talk me out of Silky, but I knew she was my girl. She would not connect or even respond to people at the rescue, now she is very smart and my constant companion, she even helps me to get up (like a service dog would). Enjoy watching your shy boy blossom into a gorgeous flower, I certainly enjoy watching Silky grow.

RE: Shy but handsome tri red
I've really been enjoying reading the posts on this site because I've heard so many say how shy the dog was and now how great they are! I knew border collies tend to be on the "shy" side just because they are a submissive breed but I've never worked with them before and even though I've rehabilitated shy pit bulls this lil guy is wired completely different. Just a week in his new environment has made a HUGE improvement in him. I find myself training my family more than the dog. He is showing great potential though and I wish more people could see and understand this. There are too many shelter dogs put down when all they needed was a more structured quiet environment with some confidence building excersizes!

Our old Collie beans was a shy pup, but grew up to be one of the most loyal and loving dogs ever, i miss him like crazy. This dog is so beautiful, I hope he gets a home soon.
