Maggie has an itchy spot
I have noticed that Maggie has a bit of a bald spot on her back near her butt. She seems to be biting at it periodically. Its not red or sore looking, just no hair. I checked for fleas with a flea comb and saw none. There were a very few bits of dandor near the spot but nothing that concerned me. We did change her food about a month ago, I hope its not from that. She is now on Taste of the Wild Salmon flavour. Any suggestions on making the itch go away. Do I bath her with special soap?

Re: Maggie has an itchy spot
Most likely a "hot spot" starting. Try some Vick's vapor rub with BFI powder, can get both at drug store. Just get smallest sizes and mix just enough together to cover the spot with a thin layer.

Okay, I will try it. Can you please tell me what BFI powder is and how much of each to mix together?
Thank you,

Gina

Re: Maggie has an itchy spot
It's an antiseptic powder. I have used Gold Bond powder mixed with Neosporin and that has worked also. No licking allowed.

RE: Maggie has an itchy spot
Yep, the smell of the vapor rub keeps them from licking. Probably 1/2 tsp of each.
