Let's get personal...#2
So I was browsing through old posts and came across one with this title originally posted by Bocobutz over a year ago.

http://www.allbordercollies.com/forums/T...t=personal

Since then however there have been LOTS of new members so I thought it'd be interesting to do it again.

Soooo my turn Smile

My 'real world' name is Alison Adams, though I have gone by Ali ever since I can remember. I have been married for just over a year to my amazing husband who I've been with since I was 16. I am now 24, no kids (yet), I have my degree in Family and Child Services. I have loved dogs all my life and have two amazing canines! Loosie is a beagle, and then Nitro our BC puppy. I live in the great state of Alaska and have all my life, though I will be leaving May of 2011 to move to Portland, Oregon. Mmm....that's about it I think.

(Nitro and I. We got professional portraits done on August 21 so these are the previews, hence the lovely logo)

I can't believe I missed this thread first time round... My name is Anne and I've been married to Iain for 20 years (where does the time go)? and I live in Glasgow. I trained as an RN years ago when the training was all hospital based, just recently I went back to Uni part-time and got my degree specialising in Diabetes and Health Studies, I work in a surgical ward.Smile
Rocky has been my first dog. When my son was small, he saw a film called My Dog Skip and after that kept pestering us for a dog, as my hubby had BCs growing up and loved the breed, we got Rocky - did I ever get a shock?Speechless-smiley-003
I could go on and on but realise it's just meant to be a short intro,Cool
looking forward to hearing about everyone else.

I'm Iona Mackay, I'm 27 and I live just outside Stirling in Scotland. I was born and brought up near Glasgow but moved up to Stirling in 2001 for University and I've been here ever since. I've been married for just over a year to the lovely Craig who I met at Uni and have been with since I was 19.
Skye is my first ever dog as growing up my family were more cat lovers, but Craigs parents used to train the guide dogs for the blind, so growing up he always had Labs. The ones who "fail" their final exam get put up for adoption so they've had a few over the years. Their beautiful golden lab Kirsty had to get put about 3 years ago at 14 after suffering various problems with her hips. V.sad as she was like my first dog.
I currently work as a swimming teacher and lifeguard as the job sitation here is quite awful just now, but my long term plan is to go back to uni and do a post grad in primary teaching.
I'm also very outdoor-sy, which is great for Skye! I adore climbing, hill walking and downhill mountian biking. I'm currently trying to save up for a new bike... which is going to take me a looooong time!

Didn't realise I was the old lady on the site!Yikes
I'm Jo, born in Yorkshire, where I trained as a teacher, and eventually joined an Anglican convent as Catherine Joy.
Some years later, having left and living the high life which I'd missed whilst inside, I met Gavin, who'd given up a well paid job in the City of
London to become a vicar. Ah well....never wanted diamonds and pearls...
We make a good team, although I have to watch my mouth and be respectable at times.....which comes quite hard...Yahoo
Recently described as one of the village's eccentrics...Eusa_dance. Great!
Retired to a village near to our final parish, which is part of the nuclear coast, next to the vast site of Sellafield.
Famous for having a dog, Cap, who survived 9 weeks down a cave.
Now have Sally, a runt of a farm litter turned out by the farmer.
Usually cheerful, noisy and lacking self control when it comes to eating, drinking and the sly cig outside the pub....
Happy Jo.Action-smiley-030

Ok I'll do a better one Smile

Action-smiley-030 I'm Daniela, 26, of California. I've lived all over the Californian Coast, all over Western Washington, and in South Eastern Arizona. LJS1993 and I have married for 2 years (3 in April) and have no children yet. I am initially trained as a pastry chef however I do not work.

I am a full time student majoring in Nursing. I am currently working on my general education requirements and will be eligible to apply to nursing schools in another two semesters. My goal is to ultimately work in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). I have worked in everything from debt collection to restaurants to a shelter veterinary clinic.

My husband and I live on and maintain the family 11 acre working produce ranch in the Southern California desert. As you know, our dogs are Freckles who will be 4yrs next month, Tucker 3.5yrs, and BennE who will be 3 yrs on Christmas day. We also have two ferrets, Shrahn 3 yrs and Kiwi ~4+ yrs. Freckles was my first pup. When I am not studying or out with the pups I enjoy belly dancing.

This is a great picture of you two! I didn't know you were a pastry chef. I always thought I would like to do that.

I don't do "personal" on the internet so I guess that makes me a little old-fashioned. Anyway, what is clear from this thread is that the best looking gals go for BCs. I call Jess my "babe magnet" since she is sure to draw attractive young ladies from everywhere. They come over to us and strike up lengthy conversations with me... just so they can get to know Jess! (I'm just the joker who happens to be walking with such an adorable dog!)
