Hello from South Africa
Hey Action-smiley-030

We are slightly dog crazy and have 17 dogs Yikes thankfully we do live on a farm so they do have lots of space to run (most of them are rescues). So to save you hours of boredem I am only going to introduce my BC.

Her name is Daisy-Mai, she is 10 months old and super clever and slightly crazy. She tries to herd everything - horses, people (farm staff), chickens and cars. She will only respond to whistles and no voice comands. She was not socialised as puppy so she is quite spooky and withdrawn. She has had to learn to play and not be so serious. she learns quickly but is difficult to train as it can be hard to get her to interact with you - but she is improving slowly.

Welcome to you and everyone there! Daisy sounds like a great pup. Thank you so much for rescuing all those babies. Daisy will come around. My Green wasn't socialized. He has come around and gotten so much better. Your patience will pay off.

In their short lives our pets give us all they can...their friendship, unselfish love, and total loyalty.
Lucky dog always in my heart

Hey

Thanks for the warm welcome.

As I mentioned the rest of the hooligans will take a long time to introduce but since you asked, here goes - Jemima is my Dads 9 year old bloodhound, she only loves my dad and barely tolerates the rest of us, she is a brilliant tracker but the problem with her is that she refuses to track anyone but my Dad, she is highly embarrassing when visitors arrive in white pants (usually she completely ignores visitors),she makes a beeline for there backsides and leaves a dark drooly smudge that makes them look like they have had an accident.

Walter is the family clown, he is a 2 year old bloodhound and he loves to fish in the pond, he is very proud of himself because he caught his first fish the other day - no one told him it was already dead, he constantly smells, drools and farts. Still everyone loves him. He also knows how to track, I want to use him for SAR but I will have to work really hard with him because he is scared of everything.

Alex is my Mom's golden Labrador, he is 6 years old, he came to us as a 9 months old puppy - his owners wanted to put him to sleep because he was to boisterous so we got the phone call from the vets saying would we like another dog, he was VERY BAD when he first came, eg. we let him out the car after we had just fetched him from his old owners and in true Alex style he rushed straight into the house and stole all my brothers lunch, thats just Alex, he is absolutely crazy and LOVES the water. He also has some strange disease that even the vets don't know what it is but for now he is happy.

Eddie is my sisters road side special, he is about 5 or 6 years old now, he came to us because my Dad was driving on the highway when he saw some people throwing a dog out of the back of there moving car so my Dad picked up the very scared, sore puppy and took him to the vet, the vets fixed him up and he came to live with us. When he first came he was petrified of people but he gradually learn't that we were not going to beat the living daylights out of him, it also helped that he adored my sisters chocolate lab. Now he is the most faithful dog ever, no one is even allowed to look funny at my sister cause Eddie will take you out. He is also the weirdest looking dog ever.

Muffin is Eddies hero and my sisters 10 year old chocolate Labrador. Everyone loves Muffy, her funnest game is to steel something of yours and then run around and around the table just out of reach, she also loves a good game of ball. She is super intelligent and knows how to track and a multitude of tricks, she even sits on the spare chair at the dinner table though she never steels (bad I know). She loves catching rats and mice.

Farley is my sisters other Chocolate lab, she is only 1 year old, she also has a huge character and loves water.

Liquorice is apparently an old farm style fox terrier, he is 9 years old and has decided that I am his owner. he is more of a quite dog but he never leaves my side, he thinks he is very cool cause he is the only dog allowed to come on outrides with the horses. he came to us because my uncle was not very nice to him and so my aunt phoned my Mom and said we could have my uncle or the dog - we chose the dog (the better optionIcon_lol).

Tinka is a brainless but very sweet 6 month old Jack Russel. She is very active and I think is just a ball of muscle, She is also my Moms dogs.

And then of course there is my Daisy (the bc) You already know all about her, She has got to be our smartest dog or though my family would argue with me. She is currently got her head rested on my knee asking if we can go to bed cause it is actually quite late here, so the descriptions of the rest of the dogs will be briefer.

Dennis we got as a very sick puppy, he was running around outside one of the shops. He is HUGE and likes to cuddle Yikes, he adores guests. and is generally a very sweet dog, he is really athletic - he will jump up and catch low flying birds (Icon_cry Poor birdies).

Jelly is a english setter and she thinks life is highly depressing, she also likes to talk and make sure you know all her troubles, she is also a very good natured girl. she is 9 years old

Tilly is my moms black cocker spaniel, she is 1 year old and believes that she is the policemen of the house, she absolutely hates the bloodhounds because they are constantly breaking her rules. She is a huge caracter and everyone loves her. When she has done something bad all she does is turn her angel eyes on to you and immediately you are convinced that it really wasn't that bad an offense.

Rosie is Jelly's full sister she came from my Grandparents because my grandfather got tired of having her and so wanted to put her down (in his defense he really was very old). she is a huge hypochondriac and also talks like her sister.

Maggie is my brothers mut. she was found with her litter mates in a card board box on the side of the road - we did get her from the SPCA. She is a very friendly dog. It is hysterical because my brother is really tall and Mag is tiny but mag feels that she must protect her tiny boy from anyone who might harm him.

Arnie is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, he is now 5 years old and was brought for my Mom as a Mothers day present. he is very sweet but incredibly shy of strangers.

Paddington is our Belgian Shepherd puppy he is 4 months old. He is a very big woos and feels that when ever he has been hurt he must cry until someone has come to his rescue and picked him up (even though he is getting to be very big) and hold him until he stops crying and he feels that it is safe to be put down again. Everyone LOVES Paddy. We got him because our Belgiun Shepherd male (Waco, also a rescue) had to be put down last year because he had brain tumors and everyone just missed him so we got Paddy.

Poppy is my good friend she has been with me since I was 4 years old, she is now our oldest dog (13 years old) she thinks that she is queen and everyone should obey her. She is my miracle dog - she was jumped on by one of our horses and the vets did not think she would make it but God showed that he is faithful and she is completely healed, to tell how bad she was she had broken ribs, her spine was broken and a shattered shoulder, she was bleeding internally. When we got to the vets they said we must put her down because she was also paralysed but to the vets amazement she made a full overnight recovery she does not even limp (the vets took X-rays so I am not making this up), The horse weighs 600kg and Pop weighs 5kg.

So that is our crazy household. Told you it would take a long time to introduce everyone. Big Grin Will post pics soon

Rach
