RE: Harlow, creepin at me
Were you holding her favorite toy? That's the look I get when I don't throw the ball fast enough.

RE: Harlow, creepin at me
Very pretty girl! But I guess to other border collie owners, it's a perfectly normal look on her face. Some other non border collie people though..they might think she's too intense.

LOL
Herman does this to the kids at the track. I have had people ask me if he is ok because he is entranced.

RE: Harlow, creepin at me
yes, i was holding a stick! she herds sticks and puts them in piles, i have no idea why 'thats' her thing. she hates tennis balls and frisbees lol.
but i agree, being a BC owner i know and am used to the look, but some people she's scared, especially kids holding pencils--she thinks the pencils are sticks :/ this is a pic of her with a paint mixer--again, she thinks of it as a stick |

RE: Harlow, creepin at me
I get that look too, although Holly normlly stares at her toy like this, hoping it will move by itself!, even when i hold her toy she stares at her toy instead of me.

RE: Harlow, creepin at me
There's something about Fergus that even when he's staring intensely he's not at all scary, infact he gets even cuter. Must be the shape of his head or the positioning of his ears. I'll try and take a picture!

RE: Harlow, creepin at me
Harvey doesn't do this. He NEVER does any intense stares, I am starting to think I got the defective BC! The only BC things he does is chase things & crouch...

RE: Harlow, creepin at me
Izzy often does this as we are passing people on the street. I give him a little tug and tell him to 'watch me' instead (as if that works
), because it really does make people nervous. In fact it made me nervous when he first began doing it because I wasn't sure if he was focussing out of fear, and what reaction he might have if they stopped to pat him. Turns out, of course (with the exception of neighbour-lady with the big furry hat) that as soon as someone does stop, Izzy becomes a tail-wagging freak.hehe...it also reminds me of an episode on Frasier, where Frasier's getting upset over Eddie constantly staring at him. At one point he says to his dad, "He won't stop staring at me!! He's WEIRD!!!" ![]() ![]() "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." ~ Will Rogers |
