Filled bones for dogs?
Hello (:

I work at Petco, and I've been seeing these Red Barn (Chicken/BeefBaconDance/) Filled Dog Bones and I've been wondering if any of you have tried them before with your dogs? Not necessairly that brand, but just that type of dog treat in general. I've never tried them (obviously lol) and I would really like to because it seems like Violet would like them but I've never given her anything other than the small rawhide knot bones. Has anyone had any bad experiances with them?

Please let me know! (: Thanks.

Here's what they look like,

I've given them to Twig, Yukon, & my guy's dog, Kona. They all love them and we haven't had any bad experiences. Aspen won't eat them, though. He won't even lick the filling out, but he's weird.

Zoie loves hers. She has licked out as much of the filling as her tongue can reach but still hasn't worked through the bone. It is quite humorous watching her try to gain tongue extensions!!! Icon_lol

Looks like a great "busy" treat. You can always refill it with her food all mashed up with some peanut butter and water. Eusa_dance

RE: Filled bones for dogs?
Thanks for the responses everyone (: I'm glad to hear no one has had any problems with the bones.
I actually just purchased one for Violet, and after reading this I feel better about giving it to her. She's getting a bacon filled bone Big Grin

@ Herding Addict,
She's not a big chewer. All of her toys from when she was a puppy are suprisingly still in tact. (:

@ Trickytrip,
That is a very good idea! Big Grin

Ours love these, but they get snippy with each other when they have one so we do not allow them any more Sad

RE: Filled bones for dogs?
Mine have had the filled bones, but I do prefer to get them raw marrowbones to chew on.

I've heard of problems with the rawhide chews, especially the ones with knots on the end, a dog was rushed into the vets I work at with the knot stuck in it's throat, the vet managed to remove it quickly.

That's really scary. And I actually heard the opposite from a friend about rawhide with knots being the safest. It does make sense that a knot could accidently be swallowed whole.

Rawhide in general just makes me nervous! Speechless-smiley-033
