Where are you located and what are the pups eating now?

RE: Best diet / food for my Border Collie pup?
It's best to continue with the food the breeder is feeding now, but saying that I transferred 2 of mine straight on to raw when they came home at 7 weeks old. The thing to look for in good food is the ingredients, make sure the 1st few listed aren't cereal. I've been feeding mine raw for about 11.5 years, Bertie was fed James Wellbelloved before, I raised the pups on raw and Burns (as the other owners didn't want to feed raw), if I go to an agility show for a week I feed Burns or TOTW. Other good brands (in the UK) are Skinners and Arden Grange.

If your pup is fed on Bakers or Pedigree though i would change his food, they are said to be rubbish!, might keep an eye on this thread, my dog has been sick quite abit this last week, know swapping her food to see if this helps, thinking of jwb or burns..

Green had alot of problems with his old food. His issues were allergies. I switched him to Halo. Not only did his allergies clear up but his coat is amazing now. Everyone who sees him comments.

RE: Best diet / food for my Border Collie pup?
The rescue our puppy came from had her on Pedigree, not something I'd choose. I bought a small amount of the Pedigree Puppy they were feeding and gradually mixed it in with a higher quality food over a period of about 10 days, until she was 100% on the new food. She didn't seem to have any trouble. She was eating puppy food (Wellness brand) until about six months old and then I gradually moved her to the adult food my other dog eats. When they were on different diets, I had to feed them in separate rooms, because they like to "share", trading bowls back and forth several times throughout the meal, because even if the food is exactly the same, the grass is always greener
...now I can feed them together, which is easier. Neither dog overeats, they just eat until they are full and often leave some food, so I'm not worried about one eating more than her share.

I feed raw. The dogs don't allow me to go back!
