Almost an accident.
Bought a new, bouncy ball. Took Sally across the road, onto the grass, and threw it. It bounced off her head, and again and again, as she chased it. It bounced so far, that it went right through the car park, then into the road. Sally only had eyes for the ball, and raced after it. It all happened so quickly....if I'd shouted "car!", she'd have laid down in the middle of the road....there were 2 cars, one each way. They stopped, and I called her.
The b....y ball bounced right across to the opposite kerb, then came back into the car park. I was almost sick. I had to praise her for coming back, but I was shaking, and walked down to the beach praying aloud! I'll never, never again take a new ball onto that patch of grass. It's the chewed remnants for ever. Non-bouncy Jo and Sally. Seascale, Cumbria, UK. |

RE: Almost an accident.
Yikes. Glad she's ok. I know what you mean about not yelling the wrong command at the wrong time. Lance once took off after a cat and before I noticed he was running across the street and I yelled "Lance!" which of course made him stop instantly and come back to me... back across the street when cars were coming. Scared me so bad.

Oh Jo thank goodness it turned out ok. What a fright you must have had. I'm thinking a nice quiet evening is what you non bouncy girls need.

RE: Almost an accident.
Nor am I- now!!!We've so many well-chewed, non-bouncy ones around, and that's what we're taking. I just thought it was a treat......

RE: Almost an accident.
It almost happened again with the half-ball....somehow rolled down the hill towards the car park. AND SALLY DROPPED FLAT ON THE GROUND WHERE SHE WAS!- and waited for instructions. What are these collies like?
