Adding a baby.
Just wondering how your BC reacted when a new baby is introduced to the family.

I have had a BC in a past relationship where the household was two adults and when small children came over he was very skittish and would hide.

We plan on introducing baby to him immediately but he is very needy and jealous with our attention already. I am a little worried he might not react very well. He is still young and we are working with him but we will soon have less time to devote to him.

Ian

RE: Adding a baby.
I don't have kids of my own, but my nearly 3 year old nephew comes round alot and my older sister is due another baby in a couple of months, when my nephew was little he was round are's everyday i only had Bella at the time and she was fine with him, when she saw him for the first time she just went up and sniffed him, she was even a little protective of him and still is abit, Holly is great with him she loves everyone and loves fuss and attention so he gives her lots of it and she sits there and loves it!, i would add though that when the baby is older i would teach it to leave the dog alone when it is sleeping and also when it is eating, Bella doesn't like Liam doing both of these we have taught him to stay away from her and actually she is fine with him when she is asleep know, i would add never leave a dog alone with a child i trust Holly with Liam but i would never leave her alone with him as you never know and it only takes a second.

RE: Adding a baby.
It's just me and Flækja so I make sure to expose her to as much as I can. especially kids and babies.
I'm lucky enough to have a sister who owns a 4 year old and a 1 year old and she is also a dog fanatic so she is happy to work with me on getting Flækja used to kids and it's never been a problem for her to be around babies. Though of course they are never alone, not with my dog or her own.
Like vicky says "it only takes a second"

But Flækja was very quick on the up take. "these tiny hoomins drop treats!"
