For most people
getting a dog from a rescue organization is
the best way to go. There are thousands of
great dogs in rescues and shelters that need
good homes, so we encourage you to go with a
rescue dog. One big plus to getting a Border
Collie from a rescue group is temperament. A
rescue dog is evaluated by the foster owners
to assess what kind of temperament the dog
has, and they can then match it to the best
home. For instance if you are looking for a
dog for herding the rescue will know which
dogs have the most potential. Or if you want
a calm dog that is good with children the
rescue can help you find the right Border
Collie for you. When you purchase a puppy
from a breeder you have less chance of
getting that perfect temperament for you and
your families needs.
